- 3.5G (HSDPA) network
- 2.2 inch 262k color TFT QVGA screen
- 100 x 47 x 14 mm size and 104g weight
- Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate in Media
- 3.2 Megapixel non-focus camera with QVGA@15fps video record
- 40MB internal memory with up to 8GB M2 card support
- Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP support
- Stereo FM radio with RDS
- Walkman Series
Sony Ericsson W595 is targeting on middle range Walkman series phone and It do serve what it means by. Below is my opinion after testing my sister W595 phone.
Design & Build Quality
- Compact and nice layout. The build quality is good except the back cover holder which is too fragile and might break if you open up the cover in wrong direction and wrong power impact where too soft it won't open and too hard they is a possibility to break the holder. Suggested less opening it if not needed.
Screen
- 2.2 inch is kinda small for now but it still serve right for you. The QVGA TFT screen is sharp and clear. Surprising me is it is well noticeable during bright sunlight.
Menu & Speed
- W595 was preloaded with few nice Flash base themes which look cool. The operations is same as current Sony Ericsson phone, it is user friendly and it won't be any problem even you never use any Sony Ericsson phone before. Speed is OK in overall, you won't find any lagging in any part but it is not extreme speedy.
Keypad & lightning
- Slightly hard to press in overall, you need little power impact when pressing the keypad or any front panel button. The lightning in the keypad and front panel button is somehow nice but not constant. The below button light is less bright compared with above button.
Speaker and Sound
- The speaker sound is loud and clear, the sound quality is stunning nor matter the sound is produce out from the speaker or the supplier earpieces.
Signal and Calling quality
- No doubt Sony Ericsson still build a very good calling quality and signal.
Camera
- It is targeting for music and the provided camera is ready bad even thought it is 3.2 Megapixel. They is no auto focus, fix focus or macro to play on it. The output photo is blur when you take closer object but it still ok on normal landscape shot with night mode on. The noise level high in overall and they is no way to take in low / no light condition as the phone didn't provide any flash light at all.
Conclusion
- If you need a good stylist budget slide phone which great in term of calling quality, performance and great music player but not bother of camera quality. This is a good choice selection phone for it.

Some afternoon shot from Sony Ericsson W595

The photo blur like a paint at far view and some color wash out in certain point, it seems over compress with bad lens attached. This ready not a good phone for taken photo. It is best suite as a Music phone only.
